Face painting.
Classic fun for kids.
Kids everywhere love to have their faces painted. And nowadays quite a few adults are willing to have a go, too. Face painting suits a huge variety of events, and can be used for a number of different purposes :-
- Pure unadulterated fun - kids like to play at being Spiderman, or robots, or whatever, and why shouldn't they?
- To create atmoshpere - whilst the kids are innocently enjoying themselves, your event or function is being enlivened by a host of gaily painted characters.
- For promotional purposes - a themed or branded face design applied to a large group of people can have an astonishing impact.
- For robbing banks - okay, so I haven't actually come across this one yet, but it would be a good disguise.
About the painters.
Professional face painters will know a great deal about making their subjects comfortable, and will quickly and expertly apply a myriad of designs. Depending on the nature of the job, your face painter will normally turn up with all of the necessary equipment, including a work table and chairs. For larger jobs a supply of clean water, and perhaps some sort of shelter might be helpful.
About the paints.
Modern face paints are water based, and generally use vegetable dyes, so you shouldn't have to worry about daubing other people's children with dangerous chemicals, or offending against religious or ethnic considerations. Good quality make up (the only type we use) is made by experts to be hypo-allergenic, environmentally friendly, and easy and painless to apply and remove.
